Nestled in the heart of Mullingar, the Greville Arms Hotel stands as a testament to centuries of warm welcomes and rich history. Established around 1750, our hotel has been an integral part of the community, evolving through time while preserving its historic charm.
Originally known as Wilton’s Hotel, the establishment was acquired by Lord Greville in 1858 when he purchased the entire town of Mullingar. Renamed the Greville Arms Hotel in his honor, our premises have hosted numerous notable figures, including the renowned writer James Joyce, who immortalised the hotel in his works.

“I’ve said this for a few years years and I’ll say it again ! This Hotel for me..is the best in Westmeath if not some other counties too!. Staff are amazing and go above and beyond. The rooms are cosy ,warm and have every modern convenience for a stay . Reasonably priced ! And mist of all…the food is just fabulous. ”
